The MACO

THE MANUFACTURE COLLABORATIVE

The headquarter of La Manivelle is located at the MACO ...

La Manivelle is an integral part of the MACO (MAnufacture COllaborative) project, which aims to offer the population of Geneva an ecosystem that will provide a new dynamic to respond differently, on one hand, to the needs of individuals, artisans and companies, and on the other, to the evolution of our consumption habits (overconsumption of cheap objects) or our relationship to production (dissolution of manual work, loss of know-how and dexterity).

Moreover, MACO intends to illustrate by a concrete example that other economic models are possible and viable. It is also a tool for raising awareness of environmental issues and showing that other alternatives are possible, whether for the public, the professional and entrepreneurial world, public and cultural institutions or the school and educational environment.

SIPY

GLITTER

Workshop of plastic upcycling, the association Glitter wants to change the "disposable" vision we have of this material through design and research on its materiality. It has several machines, created in open source by the Precisous Plastic movement, which allow the recycling of plastic and the creation of objects in a local and artisanal way.

RESSOURCES URBAINES

Ressources Urbaines is a Geneva-based cooperative of artists and cultural actors that offers spaces for cultural production, exchange and diffusion at affordable prices. It aims not only to make buildings available in transitioning areas but also to integrate projects and spaces dedicated to these practices in the heart of new urban neighbourhoods.
